Thank you to everyone who messaged us asking about the well-being of Joanna Mason and Min Till after this evening's race at Chelmsford.

Min Till reared in the stalls and went over backwards and unseated Joanna in a very nasty looking incident at the start of the 6.15 race.

"I'm grand," said Joanna after the race. "I don't think the wind helped, it's blowing a gale force wind down here, but everything's OK. Min Till got upset and reared up and we both went over backwards when the gate opened but thankfully we both walked away and live to fight another day".

Joanna has been in superb form lately having ridden six winners in the last fortnight and it's a relief to everyone that she's unscathed after two spells on the sidelines last year.

In May she was kicked in the paddock at Beverley after winning on Jazz Samba and soon after returning to the track suffered a fall on the gallops in which she fractured her distal fibula.

Despite missing three months of racing Joanna still managed to ride 37 winners in 2023 and would have otherwise almost certainly beaten her personal best of 46 winners.

Joanna will be back in the saddle on Tuesday when she rides Musical Masquerade at Southwell.
