We head for Newcastle and Southwell on Friday with four runners on the all weather.

At Newcastle Desert Emperor bids to follow up his course and distance win in the ten furlong Make The Move To Midnite Handicap. The eight-year-old sprang a 22/1 shock last time at Gosforth Park but has been raised five pounds in the handicap for his troubles. Lewis Chalkley keeps the ride and claims seven pounds.

At Southwell Von Trotter will aim to go one better than when runner up on his racecourse debut and he runs in the Win £250,000 With BetMGM's Golden Goals Restricted Novice Stakes. The homebred juvenile made a fine start to his career at Newcastle last month and he looks a horse with a future. Von Trotter is the first foal of homebred mare Bankawi who won four times between 2019 and 2022 and it would be great to see her achieve a winner with this fine son of Mattmu.

Ring Of Gold has won twice this autumn and the veteran runs in the second division of the Read Meg Nicholls' Blog At betmgm.co.uk Handicap. A four-time career winner he's not managed to get his head in front at Southwell in 14 attempts. He steps up to a mile this time having secured all his previous victories over seven furlongs. The division of the race looks to have gone well with both last time out winners and both last time out runners up going into the other half of the race.

Our final runner of the day is I Need Your Love in the Midnite A Next Generation Betting App Handicap. A winner at Bath in October he's yet to score on the all weather and Joanna Mason will try to coax him to a first win on an artificial surface.
