Making his 116th career start The Resdev Way defied his years to take the 'BetUK: It's Where The UK Bets Handicap' at Wolverhampton this evening. The son of Multiplex was winning for the 13th time in a memorable career which has spanned 10 seasons, having made his debut way back in 2015.

Owned by Nick and Paula Wright the gallant eleven-year-old was cruising a furlong out and hit the front in the last 100 yards to score under Sam James, beating the three-year-old race favourite Albert Lasker by a length and a quarter. The veteran was going away at the post and looked good value for his comfortable win which saw him returned at odds of 6/1.

The Resdev Way has now run 101 times on the flat and also over hurdles and in three 'Jumpers Bumpers' and earned over £80,000 in prizemoney. His versatility has made him a dream horse for Nick and Paula as he continues to win despite his advancing years.

The Resdev Way has become a firm favourite at the yard since joining us from Micky Hammond and is known simply as 'Dev'. He's usually ridden out by amateur jockey Serena Brotherton who holds him in high regard.

"Wasn't he good?" said joint trainer Mick Easterby after the race. "What a battler, he's so genuine. He just loves doing it. What a remarkable horse."

Groom Gypsy Liddelow turned the gelding out with Remembrance Day poppies and claimed the best turned out award to give the stable a clean sweep of the prizes on offer.
