Under-rated made his debut in the 'San Siro Stakes' at Doncaster a s juvenile in 1980. His first race over hurdles was at Wetherby in October 1981. Under-Rated won the 'Angram 4yo Novice Hurdle' at Wetherby in 1982. He left the yard in 1982 for R Holder.
