Chartered Course was owned by Len Marginson. He won twice on the flat at Teesside Park in 1976. Switched to hurdles he won at Leicester in 1977 and then followed up later the same month back at Teesside. He later went chasing but failed to win over the bigger obstacles. He ran his last race at Newcastle in February 1981 where he was pulled up. He raced 24 times.
