Nutshell was switched to the stable from Pat Beasley's stable. He won two hurdle races in November 1975, successes coming at Sedgefield and Wetherby under Colin Tinkler. After winning two from two over hurdles he was sold to J Berry. Nutshell was the horse involved in the tragic incident at the yard in 1975 which involving the death of apprentice Jimmy Buchanan. Nutshell stumbled during a routine canter and came down resulting in his rider sustaining head injuries. |
