Noble Gesture made his debut at Redcar in April 1972. As a three-year-old he won the 'Stockwell Plate' at Catterick under Eddie Hide. In 1973 he was sold at Doncaster Sales for 2,500 guineas to go hurdling with Arthur Stephenson.
