Red Deamon was a winner in Mick Easterby's first season as a trainer when he was successful at Stockton. He went on to win three times at Ripon, and also at Redcar and Catterick. His final win in the six furlong 'Northern Handicap' at Ripon in 1965 was the second leg of a double after Como Boy had earlier won the Dishforth Selling Plate.
