Jorrocks was bred in Kentucky in the USA and was originally trained by Ian Balding. He joined us in 1998 from Tattersalls Sales and made his stable debut at Catterick. He won for the first time for his new owners at Beverley in 1999 but really found his form on the fibresand at Southwell in the winter of 2000. He had a fabulous all weather campaign in 2000/1 with form figures of 1211211. Terry Lucas and Jimmy Quinn both got along well with him and he shot up the handicap from 56 in November to 89 in February. His all weather form caught the eye of trainer Robert Hess Jr and Jorrocks was sold to race back in his native USA in February 2001 and made his debut in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Handicap. | ||
