Billy Garritty takes the rides at Chester on Saturday as we head across the Pennines in search of easy ground.

Action Pact lines up for the two mile and two furlong Roodee Handicap at 4.37. He's an out and out stayer and his sole career win came on soft ground over eighteen furlongs at Pontefract last year. He needs a test of stamina and conditions at Chester look ideal. Bottom weight Cascade Hall should run a good race and his form this year reads 121. He was a six length winner at Musselburgh last time and Jim Goldie's charge has soft ground form.

Spirit Of Acklam is another horse who loves the soft ground and he'll run in the Summer Saturday On 27th June Handicap over an extended mile and a half. He returned from almost a year off the track last month when finishing fifth at Ripon and the extra two and a half furlongs and softer ground will help his cause.
