Last year we followed the foals from birth to weaning and here we have an update on the fillies, now yearlings, as the continue to grow out in the fields.

The eldest of the yearlings is the filly by Soldier's Call out of Mid Winster, known as Peggy, who was a year old on the 30th January. She is three to four months older than her fieldmates, who will turn one year old in April and May.

We bred these fillies from former racemares, which include Arrowtown and Aetna who were trained here and won multiple races, as well Lady Beechfield who we also trained and was placed. Shine Honey Shine, Mid Winster and Maiden's Green raced for other yards before coming to us at Sheriff Hutton.

The yearling fillies will come in for pre-training in September but for now they have the spring and summer in which to enjoy the freedom of the paddocks.
