There's National Hunt racing in store on Thursday as Dilly's Gunner and Capla Resdev have assignments over hurdles.

First up is Capla Resdev in the Virgin Bet EBF Junior National Hunt Hurdle at Doncaster. She's a half-sister to winning hurdler Hazy Glen and has her first run over hurdles after two outings in bumpers. Last time she finished eighth of 12 behind Millstatt Abbey at Uttoxeter and she'll jump her first hurdle in public on Town Moor. The race conditions give Capla Resdev a seven pound fillies' allowance.

It looks a good contest, with dual winner Milou Du Chenet, rated 120, at the head of affairs. Mustang Du Breuil has his first race for Nicky Henderson having arrived from France after winning at Auteuil. Duc De Rohan is a debutant for Dan Skelton and is a half-brother to two flat winners and is worth a market check. Molly's Lad is another with claims and drops in class after running well and staying on when fifth in a Listed bumper at Cheltenham on New Year's Day.

Late afternoon action sees Dilly's Gunner in the Nouvelle Habit Mares' Handicap Hurdle at Huntingdon. An oval shaped course that runs right-handed, Huntingdon is notable for its flatness, with few undulations. It is a fast course but due to its location there can be muddy and testing conditions.

It's almost ten years since we had a winner at the Cambridgeshire track, the last success being Ganbei in February 2016.

Dilly's Gunner takes a big step up in trip to three miles and a furlong and makes handicap debut from a BHA mark of 96. She was runner up on her debut but hasn't been as good on four starts since and last time was fifth of eight to Hold The Serve at Market Rasen.

Briery Butterfly looks to be one with a good chance. She finished second, two and a quarter lengths behind Princess Keri at Ludlow in November before the winner romped home by 17 lengths at Hereford next time. Stamina Chope reverts to hurdles after winning over the bigger obstacles at Ffos Las. She's won two of her last three and looks thrown in off a mark of just 84.
