We head back to Gosforth Park on Wednesday for a late afternoon meeting consisting of a marathon nine race card.

Shimmering Sands hasn't won for seventeen starts but has shown enough to suggest he can get involved in the finish in the second division of the bizarrely named Midnite Ain't Your Grandad's Bookie Handicap at 3.30. We step back up to ten furlongs, the trip over which he has recorded all three of his career wins to date, and he will bid for his first success on the all weather. The versatile Educate looks the horse beat. He's been runner up in his last three races and all by narrow margins of a short head, half a length and a head over trips of ten to sixteen and a half furlongs. Prince Achille, a course and distance winner last time out also poses a threat.

Ring of Gold won two in a row before finishing fourth here last time. He steps up to a mile in the £250,000 With BetMGM's Golden Goals Handicap and faces the remarkable Second Fiddle who bids for his sixth win in seven starts. However, the handicapper may have finally caught up with him after a ten pound hike which ended his winning run here on Monday. Ring Of Gold creeps in at the foot of the handicap but has yet to win beyond seven furlongs. A one time jumps prospect he has five wins from 51 starts on the flat, his latest two victories coming at Newcastle.
