Four-year-old gelding Bulmer Bank has been rehomed after his retirement from racing last week. Racing for three seasons, his 14 race career saw him placed at York, Chester and Newcastle but unfortunately this year he fell out of love with the racecourse and so we decided to find him a new career.

Purchased as a yearling from Goffs in 2021, Bulmer Bank is by National Defense who was champion two-year-old colt in France following his victory in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere in 2016. However, National Defense's stallion career was cut short in 2022 when he died at Widden Stud in Austalia at the age of eight.

Racing in the colours of Brian Padgett and latterly David Scott, Bulmer Bank earned £9,253 in prizemoney and raced at nine different tracks, including three runs at York.

'Bulmer' will head south to Leicestershire where, after some time off to unwind, he will be retrained for eventing. He has a fine jump and we think he'll make up into a very nice event horse.

We all thank Bulmer Bank for some fun days racing and wish him and his new owner Clare all the very best for the future.

Bulmer Bank will now go eventing.
