In-form sprinter Canon's House was back amongst the winners this afternoon at Thirsk. An easy scorer at Carlisle last month, the son of Zoustar took the 'Saddle Room Deliciously Casual Cafe Dining Handicap' under Billy Garritty. The even money favourite came home three and a half lengths ahead of Sugar Baby to defy a five pound penalty.

Canon's House had been raised twelve pounds in the weights on Tuesday and today was the last day he could run from his old mark making him seven pounds well in.

It was a quick double for jockey Billy Garritty as Miss Brazen returned to form to win the 'Stirrup Room Delicious Deli-Box Dining Fillies' Handicap' half an hour later. It was over two years since the daughter of Brazen Beau was successful, but she showed herself to be in fine form as she came home another decisive winner, defeating Over Spiced by three and a quarter lengths at odds of 9/2.

Miss Brazen's victory brought up trainer Mick Easterby's 2,600th career winner.
