Menelaus just failed to get up to win close to the line at Thirsk this afternoon.

Sent off as the 3/1 favourite, the Connor Beasley ridden three-year-old went down by a short head to Copper And Five, ridden by our very own Joanna Mason.

Joanna is usually on our horses and is a tough jockey to beat when she's riding for the opposition.
